All our ciders are made from freshly crushed apples harvested in central Somerset from known orchards and specific varieties where the fresh juice comes to us less than 24 hours after harvesting and crushing.
We focus on soft Tannins to make smooth drinkable ciders. Our main apple varieties include Dabinett, Yarlington Mill, Morgan Sweet, Stembridge Clusters, Browns, Kingston Black and a selection of the 14 traditional varieties grown in the historic Glastonbury Abbey Orchard. We allow the selection of the selected apples to determine the taste of the cider.
Over the past dozen years Alan and Richie have honed their cider making, selecting the specific varieties and orchard. Their ciders have become genuine award winners at events like the British Cider Championships (the Bath and West), The Somerset Cider Championships (the Mid Somerset Show), the Royal Cornwall Show, Yeovil Show, South West Cider Championships the South West Cidermakers competition.
Stones Dry has received a placing in the prestigious farmhouse dry class at the British Cider Championship for four successive years. Blind judged with different judges each year!
